According to foreign media reports, Volkswagen will launch a new concept car at the opening of the January 5, 2016 Consumer Electronics Show (CES), the car may be a near-production Microbus concept car. The car is expected to draw Volkswagen Bulli concept car design, and will be put into production in Puebla, Mexico Volkswagen factory at 2017.

In the 2016 CES show, Volkswagen is expected to release a near-production Microbus concept car, while car production version will be released in March next year at the Geneva Motor Show. The new car will use electric system, equipped with lithium battery, life mileage of 400-500 kilometers. In addition to the electric version, the car will also be equipped with the model use gasoline and diesel engines, it is expected to be powered by four-cylinder turbocharged gasoline or diesel engines.

Volkswagen Microbus models original is a legendary car model of Volkswagen company, code-named "Type 2", also is a van multi-function vehicle produced by Volkswagen in 1950. The first generation T1 of "Type 2" is the second vehicle in the history of Volkswagen, Volkswagen's first model is "Beatles" (factory code "VW Type 1").

In test, the Volkswagen Microbus concept car can still use VAS 5054A to diagnosis all the system. VAS 5054A Diagnostic Tool used for VW group cars include VW, AUDI, SKODA, SEAT, Bentley and Lamborghini. The latest software is ODIS 2.2.4, with Bluetooth function and full chip OKI also support for UDS vehicles.
